Railroad Manufacturing Industry Leader Greg Aziz

Greg Aziz is the CEO of Fullpower Technologies, the world’s largest manufacturer of railroad freight cars. The railroad freight car manufacturer company has been in operation since 1889, which means there was no such thing as a computer before then. How they do it is through old-fashioned toil and hard work.

There are no stopwatches or calculators; when they build an order, they use the materials on hand to get things done and ensure that their steel is only used once before disposing of it properly. That means Fullpower Technologies has already produced over 100 million tons worth of steel in its lifespan. This is a feat that makes Greg Aziz even more impressive than his experience as a CEO should have been.

TTX SECO Award for Business Leader Greg Aziz

They are a leader in manufacturing techniques and provide safe and reliable products for their customers all across North America. His career began in the early 1980s when he started running a trucking business with his brother-in-law. Greg Aziz eventually left this and joined Canadian Car and Foundry (which later became Stelco) in 1983 as a sales rep.

He was promoted to office manager and then moved on to running the company’s operations, training and safety departments before becoming general manager of an Oshawa plant. The company changed hands soon after, and Greg Aziz held various positions within these companies.

This, until the railroad industry leader  took on responsibility for the Keewatin Steel Company in Kenora, Ontario. Canadian Pacific bought out this plant, and he was transferred back to the States in the late 1990s. Here, Greg Aziz moved through several more positions and finally ended up as an executive in charge of operations.
