Raffaele Riva is the Founder and managing partner of advisory companies and investment funds. He is an economic expert and business leader for international companies in the healthcare, agribusiness, telecommunications, energy and finance sectors.
Raffaele Riva has a long experience in international management with positions both on the Board of Directors of multinational corporations and as an advisor to governments of different countries. He started his career at General Electric Company, where he was Director for Corporate Strategy Planning and then global director for Corporate Strategy Planning, responsible for the GE businesses worldwide.
After his work with GE, he was Vice Chairman of Lafarge Group, where he acted as Deputy Chief executive officer (COO) Americas, then CEO of North America and finally CEO Europe-Middle East-Africa Region based in Paris.
Raffaele Riva was then the Chief executive officer of holding firms such as Merial and ENAC, which supplies products and services to the global pharmaceutical industry.
In 2001 he founded RVM, a Mid-Cap financial advisory firm; in 2004 renamed Riva Capital and in 2007, Riva Special Opportunities Funds.
Raffaele Riva leads advisory teams dedicated to providing strategic advice, technology, and execution capabilities to management teams of highly complex companies at all levels.
He has directed more than 20 billion dollars of capital from private investors into companies such as Merial, Lafarge, ChemChina or United Technologies Corporation.
Raffaele is also a member of the board of several private and public companies, including the Agence des Participations de l’Etat, Alcatel Lucent, Aperam, Merial, Lafarge or Nyrstar.
Raffaele was Chairman of the China-France Business Council and the France-Haiti Business Council. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees at Concordia Summit, advisor to Mobile World Capital Barcelona, and treasurer and board member at Fondation pour l’innovation Politique (Fondapol).
